For those who love to be active: The bike trail is great. When I was origionally interviewing in Burlington I was a bit intimitated by it because you go past the National Guard Building which looks like a factory and decided to give up on the path. Keep going the path is great. I logged several miles on it training for the Vermont City Marathon. On a cold day check out Debra tea or Lake Champlaine Chocolates. Debra has a middle Eastern feel so if that is not your cup of tea or your partners (I go without my husband) then stick to the hot chocolate. There are a ton of festivals, so check it out online before you go and you may get to see the Marathon, Penguine Plunge, Mardi Gras Parade and several other events that either happen on Church Street or the Waterfront. Oh and if you have spent a day on the Waterfront the Waterfron Cafe is a great place to unwind and people watch.

Gilbrook park is also a great place to go for a walk any time of year. If you are lucky you'll be there on a day that kyakers aer running up and down Winooski Falls.
Places to Eat: Tinny Thai is the best place in town and located right on the trafic circle. Another great place that is only open for lunch and breakfast is Sneakers, also located on the trafic circle.
Events: Every Thursday durign the summer there is a farmers market on the trafic circle. On of the vendors are youth that work in the organic community gardens and sell the produce at market. Durning Halloween (usually put out two or three days before) there are hundreds of pumpkins on and around the trafic cirlce. Best to get out and walk to check them all out.
